Blackmount Community Council

A volunteer 'Lifeline Service' has been established to provide support to vulnerable people in the Blackmount community (including Dolphinton, Elsrickle, Candybank, Walston, Weston, Libberton, Newbigging, Greenshields, Dunsyre,
Walton) who are self-isolating and in need of assistance. The group can provide support with picking up essential supplies, posting urgent mail, collecting prescriptions and a friendly phone call. Those in need should contact one of the below telephone numbers and advise their name, request and location so that a local volunteer can be assigned:

CamGlen Covid Support Group

The CamGlen Covid Support Group consists of all local politicians and community organisations and in the area including Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust. The group is providing a range of support including help with shopping, a friendly telephone call, advice/information and food parcels for local individuals and families who are struggling. Those interested in volunteering should complete the online registration form on the group's website.

Clydesdale Community COVID Response Team

Coordinated by Healthy Valleys and in partnership with a range of organisations, Clydesdale Community COVID Response Team is providing support to vulnerable individuals, families and older people throughout Clydesdale. Support includes delivery of pre-prepared meals, providing 'Listening Ear' calls, counselling/ CBT via telephone and delivery of family well-being packs (activity packs/sanitary products etc.). Hamilton Covid 19 Warriors

They offer a huge range of support from emergency food drops, going shopping, walk your dog or even just a friendly voice at the other side of the phone.if we can shed some light on these tough times please get in touch, there are hundreds of volenteers waiting to help and willing to filling all produres to keep you and them safe.

Healthy n Happy

Healthy n Happy are working in partnership with Camglen Covid 19 response team.  They are helping to co-ordinate the delivery of food parcels and other supports such as mail and postal services and urgent medicine collections.  They can also offer phone call checks to help reduce feelings of isolation at this time. Healthy Valleys

Healthy Valleys are working in partnership with Clydesdale Covid 19 response team.  They are helping to deliver emergency food parcels and pre-cooked meals.  They can also provide a shopping and prescription delivery service to people who cannot do this themselves and have no supporting family members.  They also offer wellbeing telephone calls to those who are feeling isolated and can signpost to online activities.  Help can be accessed by contacting the SLC helpline number – 0300 100 6100.  Services available in Clydesdale

Lanark Helps

Lanark Helps is a community helpline run by local voluntary organisations with the project governance overseen by Greyfriars Parish Church. The helpline is for isolated people with no local support who live in Lanark or its surrounding villages (New Lanark, Nemphlar, Kirkfieldbank, Ravenstruther, Cleghorn and Cartland) and who aren’t in the shielded group or eligible for support via the COVID-19 Community Wellbeing Line. The helpline can support with shopping, collecting prescriptions and telephone befriending.

Leap

LEAP have launched a free 'personal shopper service' for eligible older adults who are self-isolating due to the Coronavirus pandemic and have no other methods of support. The service covers most of South Lanarkshire and is open to self-isolating individuals who are aged 50-70 with underlying health conditions or those aged 70 plus with or without underlying health conditions. Individuals also must not have any current support from family/friends. The service covers shopping (essential goods only where these are available), power card/mobile top up and prescription collection.
