Organisation Advice

One of the primary functions of VASLan as the Third Sector Interface (TSI) for South Lanarkshire during the COVID-129 crisis is to provide support to the Third Sector organisations and community groups to enable them to be well managed and deliver quality services. Our development officers can provide a range of organisational support, whether you are commencing the start-up process or already a fully formed organisation seeking grant funding or exploring the possibilities of changing legal structure or looking for volunteers. We can assist with a range of support needs including:

• Start-up advice
• Understanding common Third Sector legal structures to allow you to make an informed choice of structure for your organisation
• Drafting a suitable governing document
• Applying for charitable status
• Understanding charity law including trustee roles and responsibilities and trustee remuneration
• Improving governance practices
• Identifying potential funding opportunities and drafting applications
• Managing and supporting volunteers
