CamGlen Covid Support Group

The CamGlen Covid Support Group consists of all local politicians and community organisations and in the area including Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust. The group is providing a range of support including help with shopping, a friendly telephone call, advice/information and food parcels for local individuals and families who are struggling. Those interested in volunteering should complete the online registration form on the group's website.

Clydesdale Foodbank

The Food Bank is run by volunteers who give many hours to collecting, sorting, packing and delivering food, as well as taking part in various fund raising activities.

As well as the main hub in Carluke, there are satellite distribution sites in Lanark, Biggar, Douglas and Kirkmuirhill, each with their own co-ordinator and team of drivers and deliverers.

Healthy n Happy

Healthy n Happy are working in partnership with Camglen Covid 19 response team.  They are helping to co-ordinate the delivery of food parcels and other supports such as mail and postal services and urgent medicine collections.  They can also offer phone call checks to help reduce feelings of isolation at this time. Leadhills community Council

Village has a red/green card system in operation. A member of community council drives round village regularly to check for red cards which indicate help is required. A bag containing a description of type of help required is left on/at door for pick-up. Community Council volunteers deal with requests and return bags to doors. They have also received funding from Clyde Wind Farm to provide a hot meal to those vulnerable or "Sheilding" - at present 15 but rising daily.

Scotlands Homeless Project

Scotlands Homeless Project support the homeless and those in need throughout Lanarkshire and Glasgow through distributing hot food, drinks and emergency provisions. During the COVID-19 crisis the organisation is distributing food provisions to foodbanks and has access to a van for collection and delivery. Collections can also be made for other third sector organisations.
