Lanark Helps

Lanark Helps is a community helpline run by local voluntary organisations with the project governance overseen by Greyfriars Parish Church. The helpline is for isolated people with no local support who live in Lanark or its surrounding villages (New Lanark, Nemphlar, Kirkfieldbank, Ravenstruther, Cleghorn and Cartland) and who aren’t in the shielded group or eligible for support via the COVID-19 Community Wellbeing Line. The helpline can support with shopping, collecting prescriptions and telephone befriending.

Leadhills community Council

Village has a red/green card system in operation. A member of community council drives round village regularly to check for red cards which indicate help is required. A bag containing a description of type of help required is left on/at door for pick-up. Community Council volunteers deal with requests and return bags to doors. They have also received funding from Clyde Wind Farm to provide a hot meal to those vulnerable or "Sheilding" - at present 15 but rising daily.
