The Community Larder in Woolfords Hall has been an excellent resource for WAT IF? to store donations of food & household essentials received from the community & local businesses!
The Larder is open set hours and residents can visit and help themselves to esstentials however, people can make appointments to come along! The motto of the larder is:
'Take what you wish and donate if you can'!
The Haven aims to support the quality of life of its clients, supporting them to live life positively and with hope.
The Haven continues to provide emotional support to individuals, their families and carers, who are affected by life limiting illness, including those who are in COVID-19 shielding and high risk categories due to underlying health conditions. Those who are emotional health and wellbeing challenges are impacted and further exacerbated by the effects of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and who may be experiencing loss, grief and bereavement.
Older and Active East Kilbride have been helping the vulnerable community in anyway that they can. They have been delivering prescriptions and running a telephone befriending service which is providing a lifeline for those who are using the services!
One lady was feeling particularly anxious about the current situation whilst self-isolating due to health reasons. Her son and daughter have been able to deliver her shopping and her pharmacy have been able to deliver her prescriptions.
WAT IF? launched a new Community Support Plan to help support the communities of Woolfords, Auchengray and Tarbrax in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The amount of hard work and dedication is making a true difference to those who need support.
Heart of Africa UK is delivering free lunches to those who are the most vulnerable in the Larkhall area.

The second round of the Scottish Government’s Wellbeing Fund is now open to applications from voluntary sector organisations providing crucial services to people as a result of coronavirus.
The first round closed on 30 April having received over 1,000 applications, with half of applications already assessed and more than £6 million approved for funding so far.
Care & Repair in South Lanarkshire were recently successful with funding from the Community Wellbeing Fund.
Due to this a Small Repairs Service will be eligible to clients with urgent repairs and advice across South Lanarkshire during this period of lockdown and social isolation.
This is a free service however, clients will have to pay for any materials required.

Canine Campus Pet Food Bank is the first registered charity pet food bank in Scotland and has been running for 4 years!
They help to rehome and rehabilitate dogs and cats as well as provide pet food for those who are struggling.
COVID-19 has taken its toll on them and they have seen a drastic fall in donations due to stockbeing low in pet stores and closure of businesses where you can find their donation bins.
Now more than ever people are relying on the food bank due to changes in circumstances since going into lockdown.
The community of Larkhall have set up the Facebook group Larkhall Rainbows along with other partners to help support their community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and the things that they have achieved in such a short space is time is truly incredible!
An initiative of Lanark voluntary organisations have created a 'Lanarkhelps' phoneline to provide practical community support during COVID-19. Groups involved include: Lanark Churches, The Royal Burgh of Lanark Community Council, Lanark Community Development Trust, Clydesdale Community Initiatives and Healthy Valleys. Project governance overseen by Greyfriars Parish Church, Lanark, a registered Scottish charity number SC016504.
