I Spy A Rainbow
I Spy A Rainbow's mission is to help spread some cheer in Hamilton by brightening up the streets with children's art work on display in windows and doors for everyone to see!
Their Facebook page is filled with pictures that children have been working on throughout lockdown, along with this there are weekly topics, themes and competitions. This gives everyone something to look forward to, participate in and feel a sense of achievement and inclusion!
They have been supporting local businesses especially those closed during this unsettling time by sharing ideas, suggestions and rainbows on closed shutters!
They have been bringing cheer to the children in the community by delivering a birthday surprise. This includes a card, balloon, gift and cake. Lockdown had been difficult for many families and this brings a well-deserved smile to the children on their special day!
Children have been working on a time-capsule and memory tree which is an excellent way to acknowledge how children are feeling just now and it is an opportunity look back on the future!
The team have been working with 145 key workers over the past couple of weeks. The children nominated a key worker and provided their families with a small gift and certificate!
They have linked with NHS Lanarkshire, who provided certificates as a thank you to children who have worked so hard to praise the NHS during COVID-19, along with a thank you certificate from I Spy a Rainbow too!
The mission for June is to spread chee and over 250 gift bags with toys, sweets and goodies have already gone out to the community as well as delivering gifts to the local care homes!
This is just a small glimpse into what they have been doing and can't wait to see how they continue to spread cheer throughout Hamilton in June!
