Carstairs Junction Welcome All Hub

Just before we went into lockdown Carstairs Junction Welcome All Hub gained their charitable status!

The newly found charity had to adapt quickly to be able to support the community. They immediately began running a Food Hub run solely by volunteers on Tuesdays and Fridays providing food support to those who need it! The Hub relies on donations and the staff and volunteers have been extremely humbled by the response!

During lockdown they have been working alongside other organisations such as Healthy Valleys, Forth Community Resources Centre and South Lanarkshire Council, who have helped to provide a much needed support service not just to Junction residents but to sister villages throughout the Clydesdale area.

Community spirit has been fantastic throughout what is a very uncertain situation and to be able to provide this vital service so quickly after gaining their charitable status is phenomenal. 

Coordinator Dorothy shared “VASLan helped throughout the process of gaining charitable status and without that guidance we would have struggled. Peter and Stuart from your team have been amazing and are always on hand to help us when we need it.”
