We co-ordinate two volunteer mentoring projects that help push back barriers to employment. Chance to Change is funded by the Scottish Government and the Robertson Trust’s Reducing Reoffending Change Fund and focuses specifically on young unemployed people who have a history of offending but have shown a desire to change their life and find work. The Enhanced Volunteering Initiative offers specialist guidance, training and support to anyone aged 16 or over who is unemployed and needs support on their path to employment.
Click the buttons below to find out more about each project. Both of these projects rely on committed volunteer mentors who will meet regularly with clients, discuss any issues they may be having, offer encouragement and give appropriate advice and information on available support. Our mentors are fully trained and receive continuous support from the project staff at VASLan. If you have experience you could pass on in order to give something back to the community, please call Ian McLaughlan on 01698 300 390 or email email@example.com.
